This place is amazing! I travel a lot, but this is a little paradise. You wake up with a view of the garden and mountains. There is silence around, you eat a good breakfast and go for a walk around the beautiful village. Then you spend time on the terrace. Flowers, books and tea. The owners are friendly, caring, help with everything. I spent a week here and it was a time of peace and quiet. From Leh every day at 8am there is a bus to Diskit, you arrive at 2pm and at 2:30pm there is a bus from Diskit to Sumoor. Returning is just as easy. 8-8:30am from Sumoor to the fork in the road, there you wait for the bus that goes from Diskit to Leh. I mention this because it is worth spending a few days in this beautiful place where you feel simply wonderful!!!!

We had a fantastic stay at De Khama right at the end of the season. The owners family and staff were amazing. Sitting on the stunning terrace in the sun in the morning for breakfast overlooking the garden with the mountains in the background was amazing. Even though we were the only guest in the hotel at the time the team cooked up a feast with almost all produce coming straight out of the vegetable garden. How they managed to grow this huge variety in the high altitude and harsh environment is astonishing. A beautiful little oasis in the Nubra Valley with amazing hospitality - highly recommend! We also enjoyed the walk through the streets of this lovely village and the drives to the Nubra Valley attractions.

The Perfect Place to Relax in Nubra Valley
De Khama Guesthouse is a wonderful place to unwind. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by the incredibly kind and caring hosts. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable, and lovingly arranged.
The highlight is the beautiful garden full of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. In the evenings, you can enjoy the most delicious homemade food, much of it prepared with fresh ingredients from the garden – and even pick fresh apricots straight from the trees.
There are plenty of cozy outdoor spots to relax, plus lots of books to browse. Everything here is made with so much love and attention to detail, it truly feels like a home away from home. We left feeling deeply relaxed and can wholeheartedly recommend De Khama to anyone visiting Nubra Valley.

De Khama is a lovely hotel tucked away in Sumoor village. I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed the serenity and the hospitality of the owners. The food served is organically produced and the dining hall is sparkling clean. There were many bird species that I observed in their organic garden, these were - Common Rosefinch, Streak Throated Woodpecker, Mountain Chiffchaff and Hoopoe. The view of the stars and the milky way at night was also mesmerising. Would recommend De Khama to any traveller type looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in Nubra Valley.

Incredibly beautiful homestay and host family. You can see the gorgeous Himalayas from your window. They grow everything in their garden that you eat in your delicious meals here. And the host family is so helpful and kind, they give you all the information and tips you need while also respecting your privacy.
Sumur is a lovely village and this is the most authentic way to experience Nubra Valley. We much preferred it here to staying in Hunder / Diskit which have become too touristy. Grateful to De Khama for showing us the authentic Ladakhi experience here. We will definitely come back!

Well !!!! No words can describe the beauty of this place and the amazing family who runs this incredible homestay in Sumoor. The family who runs this place is extremely down to earth and will go an extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Nubra Valley.
You will easily get any five star property in Hunder BUT no five star can compete the amount of love and care this family gave us.
We stayed here for 3N and everything was top notch. Food was truly amazing.
All the best to this cute family. Will visit again soon.

Nuestra estancia en Ladakh fue un verdadero placer. El lugar es precioso, rodeado de montañas y con una atmósfera de mucha paz y tranquilidad. El personal fue excepcionalmente amable y atento durante toda la estancia, haciéndonos sentir como en casa. La comida estuvo deliciosa, con platos frescos y muy bien preparados. Además, la relación calidad-precio es excelente. Sin duda, un lugar muy recomendable para disfrutar de la belleza y la serenidad de Nubra Valley.

Ein kleines Paradies im Nubra-Tal! Die überdachte und gemütliche Terrasse lädt zum Lesen und Spielen ein und man blickt in den schönen Garten. Hier wird alles sehr liebevoll gemacht, auch das Abendessen. Die Familie ist unglaublich nett!

The best stay I've had during my trip to Ladakh!
The house was lovely and beautiful, the room was super clean and comfortable. The food was amazing, I had 4 plates that night. But the best thing about De Khama is definitely the owner's hospitality and warmth! They were such lovely and helpful people. My sister had car sick on the way there and they tried their best to help us. I'm forever grateful and wishes we could've stayed at De Khama for a bit longer ❤️

If you are looking for a deeper connection with yourself, nature and the people… I suggest De Khama. A place where you can enjoy a feel of home, understanding agriculture, experiencing “farm to table” food and being under the starry night! Walking up to the monastery or around the village is your way of keeping your fitness routine intact. Seeing the hosts working in the field is an inspiration. Waking up to the view of the sun rays on the opposite mountain is a bonus!

Fantastic homestay run by a retired army man and his family.
Top notch hospitality.
Has put a lot of attention to detail while building the place... Lights, dim lights, reusable sleepers for guests.
Lady of the house prepares awesome local food served well in the dining area which again is so well thought.
Everything comes from the Vegetable garden in front and their dairy farm.
They do everything with their complete hearts.
Will certainly go again just for the experience with tranquility.

Loved this place. What a great place to stay. Large rooms, comfortable bed, great shower, I mean great shower !!!!!! Rooms over looked the beautiful gardens . Easy and intersting walk through the village, ATM, and store close by. The food, dinner and breakfast were fantastic . Tasty and plentiful. Stay here, and you won't be sorry. I could easily stay a week.

Fantastic! Home stay. It’s family run and they have a very welcoming approach to their service. After a long drive you are welcomed with a garden of flowers - roses and sunflowers. Very spacious rooms , very clean. Dinner was also amazing ! It’s both solo and family traveller friendly. If you are looking to stay at a place in Nubra ! Don’t miss out on the Dekhama experience.

Had a great stay at De Khama, one of the most beautiful, and calm places in Sumoor Nubra. Ideal for locals, tourist and travelers alike. I rarely write reviews, but I can’t say enough about my experience at De Khama. The food, the location, the garden, etc. were excellent. Most of all though, there is an authenticity and sincerity about the family…something we are generally missing today. A place to disconnect and connect to a village and a culture that seems to be disappearing…the antithesis of Leh.
